Auckland police have filed two additional charges against a man in connection with allegations of improper burial handling at Waikumete Cemetery.
Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin confirmed the charges today, stating that the arrested individual now faces one count of obtaining by deception and another of interfering with human remains. These charges stem from a second complaint lodged with authorities.
The man, who was initially arrested last Friday, will appear in Auckland District Court on March 20 to face all three charges.
Police continue their inquiries under Operation Lola as the investigation unfolds.
