Three former LG New Zealand staff, including ex-country manager Dowan Kim, pleaded guilty to criminal charges for obstructing a 2020 Commerce Commission investigation into anti-competitive practices in TV pricing.
The obstruction involved deleting customer messages, allegedly under instructions from an overseas manager.
Though the deleted messages were partially recovered and showed no Commerce Act breach, the Commission deemed the obstruction serious, citing leadership involvement.
All three were discharged without conviction due to personal circumstances.
