Former Deputy Police Commissioner Jevon McSkimming resigned in May 2025 amid investigations into alleged child exploitation and bestiality material found on his work devices, as revealed after a High Court judge lifted a superinjunction that previously barred media from reporting the nature of the objectionable material.
The allegations surfaced during a police investigation, prompting a second criminal probe, following McSkimming’s placement on special leave in November 2024 due to separate misconduct allegations investigated by the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA).
Despite attempts by McSkimming’s lawyer to maintain confidentiality, citing leaks to the media, the court declined his application to suppress reporting, allowing outlets like RNZ to disclose the nature of the material.
The case, which has drawn significant public interest due to McSkimming’s high-profile role, continues to unfold with ongoing IPCA and police investigations, while McSkimming has not yet filed an appeal against the court’s decision.

Anyone can be victimised with hidden folders that get downloaded without one’s knowledge.
Why the Courts still prosecute for a crime that was hidden from the accused without the accused’s knowledge and can be well-proven via deep scan program forensics is questionable.
I use Bleachbit at the close of every session, and I do a weekly deep clean, as when I did my OE and bought a remanufactured laptop, I took it to a computer geek to have some suspected programs virus, worm and trojan horse that were slowing the system down, and discovered hundreds of ‘images’ that were in hidden files.
The geek deleted those, but had problems doing so as these were sub-programmed into the BIOS. He then added additional diversionary files that were subject to being cleaned / contents deleted with Bleachbit.
& BTW- child porn has been threatened in the U.S. which targeted House Speaker Johnson, when he came out of a closed door meeting and reported that IF he didn’t go along with supporting the Global 2030 Agenda and support Israel, that he would have child porn planted on his systems! Johnson came out of the meeting looking pale and drained…

NZ’ers want accountability of all police and accountability from the courts. Many are dissatisfied by recent high profile decisions to suppress names and details, and perceived lack of sensible sentencing.

I don’t like dealing with the cops (acronym for Constable On Patrol…) and I will always say ‘No Comment’ or “I do not wish to contract with you!” I prefer not to speak to the cops period!

NEVER use a ‘Court-Appointed Solicitor’ as they sometimes work-in with the cops, and have more expensive cases to handle where they will be paid more, or- they want to head off to North Shore, Epsom, Merivale, Khandallah etc. for their evening martini…!
So far the cops are better behaved here in NZ than in most other countries, but still, law enforcement could be better here, based on the number of people who had evidence in their favour ignored, never presented before the courts, and over-zealous cops wanting a conviction despite knowing that the targeted person is / was innocent!

1: Justice remains justice, well, that would be the case if we’d live in a just society.
2: Commentators don’t defend the guy but ask pertinent questions and point to a very widespread MO.
