Ngarewa-Packer adds undeclared properties to register after media inquiry

ngarewa packer adds undeclared

Te Pāti Māori co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer has updated her Parliamentary register to include two previously undeclared properties following inquiries by legacy media.

Since entering Parliament in 2020, Packer had declared only one property, but an investigation by the NZ Herald revealed she also owned a residential development in Hāwera and a vacant section in Pātea, held since 2006.

She amended her declaration on September 26, two days after being contacted by the newspaper, but has not explained the omission. Several other MPs were also questioned about property declaration discrepancies, including Gerry Brownlee, Mark Patterson, Jo Luxton, Damien O’Connor and Ayesha Verrall—most of whom acknowledged “oversights” or provided “clarifications”.

Parliamentary Clerk David Wilson reaffirmed that Standing Orders require MPs to declare all real property interests.

  1. Politicians of a certain kind: corrupt in mind and office without repercussions.
And then they wonder why the people increasingly distrust and despise them.

  2. Just watch and see what they do with the condemned ‘Red Zone’ that they designated in Christchurch…they’ll be ‘remediating’ the land and then selling it on to J3wi$h Investors (ie Blackrock, Vanguard, Blackstone, State Street, etc.).
Brownlee and the Uni-Party will do everything in their power to keep us run-down, exhausted and poor whilst they do secret unseen deals.
They want to know what your assets, wealth and investment are so that they can steal them at a later date, BUT will NEVER reveal what they have in the same unless pressed by outside parties.
Will they be censured and removed from Parliament for ‘non-disclosures’? Probably not…

  3. So while we have politicians needing to be more transparent, we now have a law, thanks to National and co that lets police photograph people in public, who don’t have anything to disclose and have committed absolutely no crime, whatsoever. Next time you protest, if you don’t want to end up on some dystopian database, cover your face.

  4. Maori are explicitly recognized as Indigenous Peoples under the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which New Zealand endorsed in 2010.
This grants Maori the full spectrum of rights outlined in the declaration, including self-determination, cultural preservation, and control over lands and resources.
The UN mostly comprised of non white countries is a big part of the problem.
That keeps these pretenders grifters and interlopers entrenched firmly in place.
And why we need to disassociate Ourselves and leave.

  5. With thee demon on my chest I shall attempt to cast my hatred, lies and anger to anyone or anything that is weak and without truth and light.

    • I love poetry and surrealism.
I haven’t had me tot yet so please help me analyse:
“Attempting”, which smells instantly as a cycle of toxicity: instead of confronting or healing inner pain (hatred), the individual becomes a source of harm, targeting those they view as weaker or morally/ethically deficient.
You mean the corrupted worldview exhibited in the towwr, where strength is equated with domination, and truth and light are equated to a pollie’s chests deamon, right?
