Opposition to Keir Starmer’s proposed digital ID rollout has surged sharply, with new polling showing 45 percent of Britons now against the plan—up from 19 percent in June—while support has fallen to just 31 percent.
More than 2.8 million people have signed a petition to scrap the scheme, which aims to introduce mandatory digital IDs by 2029 to tackle illegal migration and streamline government services.
Pollster George Buchan told GB News the backlash reflects growing public awareness and distrust of expanded government powers, compounded by fears over data security after incidents like the Afghan resettlement data leak.
A Big Brother Watch poll found 63 percent of Britons doubt the Government can keep their information safe. Labour MP Chi Onwurah also criticised the Government’s lack of transparency and ineffective response to online misinformation surrounding the policy.

Even if a digital ID was a good idea (which it isn’t obviously) nobody in the UK would support it because it’s being pushed by him.
This is just yet another typically stupid blunder from Starmer.
I have something to say on this matter.
If Starmer beleives he or his government is going to shut down the necessities of life to get globalist control, the globalists and all the MPs make themselves obsolete.
To have such control over supply of food, shelter, utilities and travel, employment isn’t going to wash with citizens regardless of which political side of the fence you sit on.
To identify who you are on each webs site, each social media post, which items you buy or sell to whom and how much, track where you are at all times is no longer governance, it is dictatorship and a serious breach of privacy.
Will the citizens sit back and do nothing?
What does this government, all governments think people will do when they cant buy enough food, travel where they want and not have spare money to enjoy thier lifes. They will raise all out war on its leaders. It will be as brutal as any historical takeover or shall i say takeback this world will ever see.
Long have our ancestors fought bloody wars to protect the elite and to be paid back with unworkable lives while the obscenely rich legislate global dominance over every man, woman and child.
The only reason government remains in government is because we see them as doing the right and sensible thing. From the single person who has been wrong by another to groups or people who protest, that will be mild to a nation of pissed off citizens who will put aside their differences and openly attack government they consider illegitimate. Not acting for the people. Not acting in good faith.
This type of action has a few different names depending on who you are. To name a few. Voilence, unlawful, karma, payback, justice, civil war, revolution.
Take notice governments of the world. You are employed to do the will of the people. Digital id is not justified as it brings with it total control over people.
My first hope is government changes course at carry out the citizens will.
