Richard Chambers to be announced as new Police Commissioner – state media

Richard Chambers news

Richard Chambers is set to become New Zealand’s new police commissioner, state media reports, following the resignation of Andrew Coster, who now heads the “Social Investment Agency”.

Chambers, currently assistant commissioner and a favourite among frontline police, was chosen over Deputy Commissioner Jevon McSkimming after interviews last month.

The appointment, recommended by PM Christopher Luxon and endorsed by Police Minister Mark Mitchell, reflects the coalition government’s law-and-order priorities.

Mitchell, a critic of Coster’s “policing-by-consent” model, has emphasised a shift to a stricter, “back-to-basics” approach focused on gang disruption and organised crime.

Chambers is expected to provide “strong and decisive leadership” to meet the government’s expectations for robust policing, state media reported.

    • Yep, and if you agree to be partner in their contractual ruse they assume power over you.
They are a corporation and you, a man or woman, have not signed a contract with them.
      Resist, defy, do not comply.

  1. If there was a problem
Why wasn’t Coster told to change tactics and emphasis?
Sounds more like the problem was with the Minister of Police

  2. Great, maybe he can get stuck into the plods who assaulted Liz Gunn or the bloke who had his flag snapped the other day and fell foul of the law himself.

  3. If “policing-by-consent” is no longer the model on which police act, what does that mean in real terms?

Does that mean you no longer have the freedom to deny to contract with them?
Will the words “I do not comply” and “I do not consent” become meaningless with regards to your rights?
Will you no longer be able to trespass police from your property?

In combination with the other new laws giving police the right to use lethal force, you can only imagine what the end result is going to be and it isn’t pretty.

  4. How does the Minister of Police feel about this now that he has returned from a Peace Conference to which Russia was not invited?
We are supporting this shit that is getting serious and not just a protracted criminal undertaking
Logic dictates Putin will be forced to react shortly
Any one of these missiles could be carrying nuclear war heads for a surgical exenterating strike
The illegitimate Biden is steeping up the ante now that him and his criminal fraternity of fraudsters have been voted out of office in passing the baton to Drumph
