Argentina pulled off a remarkable turnaround at Murrayfield on Sunday, overturning a 21–0 deficit to defeat Scotland 33–24 in a dramatic Autumn Nations Series clash.
Scotland looked firmly in control after leading 14–0 at the break and extending their advantage early in the second half when hooker Ewan Ashman bagged his second try.
But the match flipped on its head in the final 23 minutes as Argentina unleashed a five-try blitz, with Julian Montoya, Rodrigo Isgro, Pedro Rubiolo, Pablo Matera and Justo Piccardo all crashing over.
Replacement Santiago Carreras added four conversions to seal the comeback. “We fell asleep at the wheel,” Scotland captain Sione Tuipulotu admitted, calling the collapse “not good enough” and predicting “a painful couple of days” for his side.
