Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced he will vote to keep the government open, despite days of Democratic infighting and resistance to the GOP-led spending bill.
Schumer admitted that his caucus was anything but “unified,” with internal disputes so heated that shouting could be heard through Senate doors.
Facing the reality that they lacked the votes to oppose the bill, Democrats caved, fearing a shutdown would hand President Donald Trump even more power and rally public sentiment against them.
Schumer’s last-minute shift exposes the party’s desperation, as even firebrand Senator John Fetterman sarcastically acknowledged their weak position.

In a government shutdown scenario, Trump gets the rest of his cabinet/government nominees across the line through recess appointments (ie without the corrupt career politicians being able to stall, delay and veto anyone). No way they would allow that
