A Victorian court ruling reveals the Dan Andrews government lied about the security of people’s private information and tried to cover it up, according to a report in independent media outlet Rebel News.
Personal information shared with contact tracers or through QR code apps do not have ‘absolute protection’. This contradicts repeated guarantees given by the Andrews government that such information would be used only for public health purposes.
The report states the government was aware of the problem, but also tried to prevent information being reported about it to the public.
