This afternoon the government announced that there are 65 new cases of COVID-19 in Auckland today.
34 of the cases are linked, 10 are household contacts and 31 remain unlinked. The total community cases in the current outbreak are now 1855.
In a worrying sign for the government’s vaccine roll-out, only 3,600 Aucklanders had their first shot of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. Despite a multi-million dollar ubiquitous non-stop media campaign for weeks, only 67% of eligible Aucklanders are fully vaccinated.
