A second allegation of shoplifting against Green Party list MP Golriz Ghahraman has emerged.
This alleged incident occurred at Scotties Boutique in Ponsonby, weeks before another alleged incident on December 23, which is currently under police investigation.
Ghahraman, ranked seventh in the Green Party and formerly holding the party’s justice portfolio, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars of high-end items from the boutique.
Following these allegations, Ghahraman has stepped aside from all her portfolio responsibilities until the matter is resolved.
Details of the December 23 incident suggest that Ghahraman allegedly removed items worth around $15,000 from the boutique, refusing to open her bag when asked by staff, and leaving with the unpaid items. These items were reportedly returned anonymously to the store hours later. While Ghahraman has not been charged, police are said to be investigating.
Ghahraman, currently overseas on a ‘pre-planned personal trip’, has not responded to the allegations. The Green Party is in contact with Scotties Boutique to ‘understand and address the situation’.
In addition to her political career, Ghahraman is noted for being the first refugee sworn in as an MP in New Zealand, her advocacy on issues like the Israel-Gaza conflict, and for previously facing controversy regarding her role in war crimes tribunals. She has also publicly shared her struggle with multiple sclerosis.
She should be kicked out of the country.

These people only contribute negativity and divisiveness within our special country.

Wait for it. The big sob-story (which she’ll doubtless sell to a woman’s magazine) about her fight with mental health and her actual MS condition will be rolled out.
Like all woke, self-absorbed Lefties, she’ll blame her own criminal activity on the store for selling items she wanted to nick…or on parliament for being anti-woman shoplifters…or on New Zealand for having a fascist police force which arrests Green nutters like her.
Here’s hoping she is forced to resign and we never hear from her again.
I guess the obvious question are: 1. Are these the only thefts or has this been an ongoing hobby of hers?
2. Why, when she is well remunerated does she risk her reputation, her job and her future prospects over something like this?
3. What sort of twisted moral compass does this person have that she would contemplate doing something like this?
4. If, indeed she has done something like this, who are her friends, mentors and advisers within the Green Party who would have suspected that she had issues?
These sorts of things do not happen in isolation. Many more questions to be answered by her and her colleagues.
