Simon Power informed staff of his resignation today by email.
The former National MP for Rangitikei joined the state propaganda unit from Westpac just over a year ago.
‘I’m incredibly proud to have led the business as we worked our way through the Public Media policy debate, and it’s heartening to have seen a material lift in engagement over the last six months,’ he wrote in the email.
The decision had been ‘incredibly tough’ but it was the ‘right time to make it,’ as he will be leaving the business in a ‘strong position.’
His last day on the job will be 30 June.
