The Queensland Reds continued their strong start in Super Rugby Pacific with a dominant 56-36 win over Moana Pasifika in a rain-soaked clash at Suncorp Stadium.
The Reds stormed to an early 21-0 lead within 12 minutes, but Moana fought back, capitalising on Reds’ discipline issues to close the gap to 21-8 at halftime.
Despite tries from Solomon Alaimalo and Kyran Taumoefolau bringing Moana within six points, the Reds regained control through Angus Blyth and Ryan Smith before Fraser McReight and Harry McLaughlin-Phillips sealed the win.
The match produced 14 tries in a thrilling contest, but Moana Pasifika will need to tighten their defense after conceding 101 points in their first two games.
