Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox concluded the Canadian Open in Ontario tied for seventh after a rollercoaster final round.
Fox, who began the day tied for fourth, briefly climbed to second place before an even-par round, marked by six birdies and six bogeys, caused him to slip back in the field.
During the tournament, Fox was in strong contention for his first US PGA tour title, even holding a four-shot lead during the third round. He finished with a score of 10-under, six shots behind the champion, Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre.
MacIntyre’s victory was notable as it marked his first win on the PGA Tour, made even more special by having his father Dougie as his caddie. The Scottish golfer clinched the title with a 2-under-par 68, securing a one-stroke victory at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, finishing at 16-under 264, just ahead of Ben Griffin, who carded a bogey-free 65.
