Wests Tigers have appointed four new independent directors to their board following a tumultuous period of internal conflict within the NRL club.
Former NSW premier Barry O’Farrell leads the new additions, alongside financial expert Charlie Viola, former Allied Express executive Michelle McDowell, and Paralympics advocate and lawyer Annabelle Williams.
The appointments, resulting from a 12-month independent search, come after the removal of three Holman Barnes Group directors amid governance issues and ongoing speculation that the Western Suburbs faction aims to sideline Balmain.
The club’s leadership, including CEO Shane Richardson, has hailed the appointments as a critical step toward ensuring robust corporate governance and fostering future success.
