Guyanese President Irfan Ali’s recent remarks condemning “Western hypocrisy” regarding carbon emissions have gained widespread attention.
During an interview with UK state news channel BBC journalist Stephen Sackur, President Ali responded fervently to questions about Guyana’s carbon emission rates in light of its plans for oil and gas extraction along its coastline.
In a viral excerpt from the interview, President Ali interrupted the journalist’s question to challenge whether he had the authority to lecture him on climate change. He questioned if the Sackur was influenced by interests aligned with those responsible for environmental degradation during the industrial revolution, now offering lectures to countries like Guyana.
Ali countered the assertion that Guyana’s oil and gas extraction would result in over two billion metric tonnes of carbon emissions along its coast. He pointed out Guyana’s extensive forest cover, equivalent to the combined size of England and Scotland, which serves as a vital carbon sink, storing 19.5 Gigatons of carbon, and which the country had preserved.

Bl*** y patronizing journalist, probably racist as well.
And what about sending all kind of amunitions to all wars, bombing and destroying countries and cultures, is that not bad for climate ? but good for the City and Wall street and its warmongers ?
Great (and no wonder why) that this clip goes viral.
What a pompous little sniffel this ‘journalist’ is.
Ha ha ha…good man, how about the UK’s polluting around the world, its oil and gas extraction, its promoting of wars that damage the environment and more….yeah get lost BBC…how about reporting on your own long list of shortcomings, as a nation for a change.
Fun fact: Oil and gas power cities and light + warm homes. They enable trains, buses and ambulances to drive. They drive our supply chains so we can put food on our tables to feed our children. They get medicines to our hospitals and pharmacies, and they even give us the ability to charge our idiotic electric cars.
Almost every positive aspect of modern society is thanks to oil. OIL IS GOOD.
The eco-crybabies are unhinged lunatics.
I don’t know if the lefty environmentalists realize, but plants breathe carbon dioxide. If you want a green planet, you need it. Also, until there is a viable alternative to fossil fuels it is stupid trying to limit them.
If temperature data from large cities, which are concrete and glass heat traps, is removed from the climate data, then NO climate change is indicated.
Also, carbon dioxide has been much higher in the distant past and the temperatures were much the same as today.
Climate change is manufactured and manicured nonsense, just like COVID with vaccines and masks and lockdowns.
The only reason last year was supposed to of been the warmest ever was of El Niño, they forgot to tell you that bit. They are going to be very upset that La Niña is going to form and temperatures will drop. This is what Mother Nature does, the more people wake up to understanding are weather the better. Please do not listen to MSM and especially the BBC.
BBC just got served…and aced!! 🤣😂
