Cresswell’s depraved crimes were committed against a total of 11 boys and girls aged between 5 and 16.
44 year old Cresswell appeared in the Hamilton High Court for the offending which spanned 13 years in the Bay of Plenty.
91 charges in total were admitted, and sentencing took the whole day, prompting Justice Gault to comment that the offending was among ‘the worst of its kind.’
Many of the charges were representative and included rape, indecent assault, assault with a weapon, making and distributing objectionable material, sexual violation, stupefying and kidnapping.
Cresswell filmed some of the crimes and stored them on his laptop. He lost a leg in a road accident in 2002, and used a prosthetic limb to beat victims during some of the assaults.
Cresswell must serve at least 9 years before being considered for parole.
