38-year-old Brian Paré has pleaded guilty to 13 counts of arson and one count of arson with disregard for human life, related to starting 14 forest fires near Chibougamau last summer.
‘Climate Change experts’ and politicians orginally blamed the fires on human induced ‘climate change‘.
Gerald Butts, a former climate change advisor to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau attributed the fires to ‘climate change caused by human activities. Butts accused Twitter users of being ‘climate deniers’ when they pointed out Paré had in actual fact started them.
The World Weather Attribution Initiative (WWAI), a panel of climate change ‘experts and scientists’ who provide ‘rapid attribution’ scientific opinion purportedly linking severe weather events to climate change for use by legacy media said the Quebec 2023 wildfires, including those at Chibougamau were ‘made more likely by climate change.’
The arson attacks occurred between May 29 and September 5, 2023 near the small Quebec town of Chibougamau. It’s 7,500 residents were temporarily displaced until the fires were under control.
Paré, who had posted on Facebook about the fires, claimed they were set by the Canadian Government as a climate change psychological operation.
Paré will be sentenced later this year.
2023 Vancouver fires also not ‘climate change’
Vancouver Island normally averages two forest fires a year, but in 2023 an unprecedented 46 fires were recorded.
‘On the Island, we haven’t had any natural caused fires, all 46 have been human-caused,’ Coastal Fire Centre information officer Jade Richardson told Chek News.
