Tommy Robinson, known for his activism on censorship, government overreach and immigration, received a standing ovation for his speech in Calgary, Canada.
Moments later, Robinson was arrested by a group of ten police officers, including both undercover and uniformed personnel. He was taken into custody and driven away in a large SUV.
The arrest has sparked outrage among his supporters, who view it as a continuation of the censorship he spoke against. Rebel News, the organisation hosting Robinson’s speaking tour, has condemned the arrest and accused the Canadian authorities, specifically the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, of being highly politicised under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s administration.
Rebel News hired Alain Hepner, a leading criminal lawyer in Calgary, to secure Robinson’s release.
