The England and New Zealand cricket teams will commemorate the late Martin Crowe and Graham Thorpe by competing for the newly created Crowe-Thorpe Trophy, set to debut during their first Test in Christchurch next Thursday.
Crafted from bats integral to the players’ careers, the trophy symbolises their remarkable legacies, with Crowe averaging 45.36 in Tests and Thorpe 44.66.
The collaboration between NZC, the ECB, and their families ensures their contributions to cricket are celebrated in future series.
The trophy, designed by David Ngawati, will be unveiled by Deb Crowe and Michael Atherton.
