The Desert Road (SH1) between Tūrangi and Waiouru will be closed in both directions from 5 a.m. on January 13 for two months due to extensive maintenance works.
NZTA is undertaking a major project to reconstruct 16 kilometres of road, improve drainage, clear road shoulders, and replace the aging deck of the 1966-built Mangatoetoenui Bridge, which is expected to last another 50 years after upgrades.
The new bridge deck, made of steel girders and a concrete slab, will be transported in sections from Napier.
A detour route via SH41, SH47, SH4, and SH49 will add 30 to 40 minutes to travel time, with a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h in certain areas.
The closure aims to complete all works during favourable weather conditions, as ground frosts typically begin in March.
The “by design” lack of maintenance throughout the west is coming home to roost. The only ones benefitting will be the central banks.
And that is something so colossal, so convoluted and planned with so much disdain for humans that hardly anybody can or wants to wrap their minds around this evil.
But failing to open eyes and mind will mean to never open them again, for us and our children.

Lions… the system is deliberately and systematically being taken apart as you know, and with that, expect MORE extreme events to occur. (Like massive fires and even more disasters but why?)
Think about it… who benefits?
Where does the cash come from to “rebuild?” We don’t have it, it must come from the Fed., who is more than willing and happy to lend as to allow themselves to inflate. Just wait for Trump to start to call for negative rates as the economy craters faster…. (one of his campaign promises was lower rates, which allows the Fed. to inflate!) Which is exactly what the Fed. wants.
For YEARS I have said, and warned, to expect them to do things you will not believe moving forward to allow them to inflate the system…Even the stuff of nightmares.
AND THEY ARE NOT DONE.
