Auckland FC stay unbeaten after 1–1 draw with Brisbane

Auckland FC extended their unbeaten start to the A-League season with a 1–1 draw against Brisbane Roar at Go Media Stadium, highlighted by a stunning free-kick opener from Lachie Brook in the 18th minute.

Brisbane equalised on the stroke of halftime after splitting the defence and beating goalkeeper Woud one-on-one. Coach Steve Corica injected fresh legs early in the second half, including debuts and returning players still building fitness, while youngster Oli Middleton made his first appearance for the club.

Auckland’s youthful attack pushed hard late, with De Vries nearly replicating Brook’s set-piece magic when his free kick rattled the crossbar. The result leaves Auckland second on the ladder with three wins and two draws from five matches.
