  1. Good do a LOT more of this. I know a couple of people who don’t even know NZLoyal exists! Get yourselves out there and make some noise.

  2. Did they get this party name from Dave Dobbyn? Although Liz Gunn claimed credit for this after lying awake for nights mulling it over.

  3. Unfortunately, it will be a wasted vote. Maybe next time. But to keep the real stinking communist shite out I’ll be voting for the lesser shite, aka the coalition. I live in the real world, not fantasy land. However I’d also love to see NZ Loyal pushing 5% next time

  4. I like their tax policy. However, the rest of their policies might as well be out of a socialist manifesto…with plans to nationalise this and nationalise that. It’s just another “bigger govt is the solution” party like the rest. They don’t get it…big government is what has gotten us into this mess. The only solution is a crash and burn…

    • Many of the things they want to nationalise were originally state owned (created by the nation building generation which fought in WW2), the privatisations began under the David Lange Labour government, and National did their fair share too. Selling the foundations of the country for knock-down prices to their mates.

    • No chummy its years of neo liberalism (Socialism for the elite) that see’s money siphoned off to the ultra rich at everyone else’s expense, that has gotten us here. Those enterprises were state owned and regulated so everyone benefited for their use, not just wealthy share holders. By the by we already had a major market crash in the last 20 years and who bailed out companies in the US like General Motors? Answer the tax paying public which equals = socialism for the rich yet again.

  5. St Columba was a pagan convert to Christianity from the Ui Neil clan in Ireland.
He started a monastery on the island of Iona inaugurating it with a human sacrifice.

      • I got that from the “Life of St Columba” written by his nephew (or great nephew) Adomnan of Iona – he wrote it a hundred years or so after the death of St Columba so wasn’t an eye witness but claimed his sources were. The book was translated by Richard Sharpe and is a “Penguin Classic” – it’s a very interesting book on a number of levels.
How much of history is a historical fact is a very debatable subject.
