Peter Crombie, known for playing Crazy Joe Davola on ‘Seinfeld’ passed away at 71 due to an unspecified illness.
The death was reported by Hollywood celebrity news website TMZ.
His ex-wife Nadine Kijner and friend Bill Stetz, remembered him as kind, caring, and talented. Crombie appeared in five “Seinfeld” episodes between 1992 and 1993, where his character antagonised Jerry Seinfeld and briefly dated Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Seinfeld ran for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998.
Crombie’s career included roles in films like My Dog Skip, The Blob, Natural Born Killers, and Se7en.
He also appeared on TV shows NYPD Blue, House Of Frankenstein, and L.A. Law.
His first credited role was in the TV movie Broken Vows (1987), and his last was in Walker, Texas Ranger (2000). Crombie was also a writer, credited for the 2006 short film Threshold.
