Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has slammed legacy mainstream media for their silence on allegations against Green MP Benjamin Doyle, who allegedly made inappropriate posts on an alternative social media account named “@BibleBeltBussy.”
The term “bussy” is slang for a combination of the words “boy” and “pussy”. It typically refers to a male’s anus when used in a sexual context.
The account on Instagram has since been made private with most posts deleted. While no evidence suggests followers were aware of the content, questions arise about the lack of media coverage and the response from Green Party leadership.
Peters said that if the same allegations involved an MP from another party, legacy media outlets would be more all over it.
