The Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, will marry Olivia Henson in a grand ceremony at Chester Cathedral, with Prince William playing the role of usher.
The Prince of Wales will be the sole senior royal attending the event on June 7.
Prince George, William’s son and the Duke’s godson, will miss the occasion due to school commitments at Lambrook in Windsor, where he studies with his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Princess Kate will also be absent as she continues her cancer treatment. The royal family’s close ties with the Grosvenors are well-known, with King Charles serving as Hugh’s godfather, yet his attendance remains unconfirmed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are similarly not expected to attend, despite Prince Harry’s longstanding friendship with the groom, who is godfather to his son Archie.
The wedding will host around 400 guests.
