The Princess of Wales marked her return to royal duties with her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, following her recovery from chemotherapy.
The candle-lit event blended festive warmth with moments of reflection, as it honored a challenging year for the princess and many of the 1,600 guests, including families affected by tragedy and those battling health struggles.
Notable attendees included Sir Chris Hoy, who lit a candle after his own cancer diagnosis, and the Prince of Wales and their three children, who supported Catherine during the evening.
The Abbey was adorned with red and green decorations and Christmas trees, creating a rich and atmospheric setting for a service that featured traditional carols, readings, and performances by artists like Paloma Faith and Gregory Porter.
Prince William delivered a Bible reading, while Richard E Grant read from A Christmas Carol. The event was filmed for broadcast on Christmas Eve in the UK.
