Former National Party Minister Nikki Kaye, who served as deputy leader under Todd Muller and had a political career spanning over two decades, has died at the age of 44 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Lots of people dying of heart attacks. Just heard of someone I know yesterday having some tumours removed, previously had a stroke last year. Lots of people who have been in remission have then suddenly died.

Niki Kaye was one of the people behind the change of leadership of Simon Bridges to Todd Muller. Big mistake. Muller lasted, like, what 5 mins? Bridges, seemed to want to have a responsible and sensible approach to the Covid response. He wanted it to be bipartisan, with all parties. Fat chance that idea ever happened, with Jacinda leading the way, bravely, without fear of consequence.
