NRL to investigate Warriors coach Agar over alleged assault on journalist

Richard Agar news

Warriors assistant coach Richard Agar is set to be investigated by the NRL following allegations that he assaulted a British journalist at halftime during the club’s season-opening loss to Canberra in Las Vegas.

According to reports, Agar allegedly grabbed a British journalist by the throat and verbally abused him in the press box at Allegiant Stadium.

The NRL has confirmed it is reviewing the incident and seeking CCTV footage, while Warriors CEO Cameron George will conduct a separate inquiry. Tensions may have stemmed from a 2022 article in which the journalist criticised Agar’s tenure as Leeds coach in the Super League.
