Detective Senior Sergeant Kristine Clarke has confirmed that a scene examination has been completed following the discovery of a critically injured man on Hampton Downs Road early Monday morning.
The victim remains in Auckland Hospital, while police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are in the initial stages of piecing together how the man sustained his injuries.
The cordons have been lifted, and the road is now open to the public.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Hampton Downs area between 10 p.m. on Sunday, 13 October, and 1 a.m. on 14 October to come forward, especially those with dashcam footage.
