Lone Star HQ terminates pro-freedom couple’s franchise

Independent news website The Daily Examiner reports the couple at the centre of vax pass dispute have had their franchise agreement terminated.

Stephanie Cowie and Brendan Pascoe, franchisees of the Lone Star restaurant in New Lynn, received the notice via email on 28 January. A copy of the notice is in The Daily Examiner’s report.

Cowie and Pascoe made a public statement, also published on The Daily Examiner on 26 January outlining their opposition to the government’s vax mandates and passes. Their pro-freedom stance put the couple on a collision course with Lone Star head office, resulting in the termination notice.

A video of that statement was uploaded to YouTube:

Pascoe and Cowie described the two years of constant lockdowns and restrictions as ‘horrific’, requiring them to re-mortgage, but they can see no light at the end of the tunnel anymore. They are not alone, as many businesses and families are suffering the same situation.

The statement concludes:

We stand to lose everything, but we have taken a stand as proud kiwis and we are prepared to take one for our team of 5 million. Many more of us need to stand and unite and say enough is enough. The Covid Response is an overreach and its impact is killing more people than it is saving. Together we must unite and say no more. Please don’t let our sacrifice be for nothing.

  1. Strike back, HARDER.

Ring up Lone Star’s head office and customer care numbers. Let them know the camel’s back just broke, you won’t be coming to any of their restaurants EVER again. Get onto their social media pages and condemn them for heartlessly ruining the lives of people who worked, sacrificed and indebted themselves to promote THEIR brand. Let them know they’re weak and disgusting, and they can keep their shitty, overpriced, cholesterol-ridden slop to themselves from now on.

Cancel culture works both ways ????

  2. I will never set foot in a lone star slop shop ever again and i will be promoting a boycott to every person i know. Time to stand up for your rights New Zealanders and chase all these communists out of OUR country

  3. What a beautiful statement. Please don’t give up, have courage. I will not be setting my foot on any lone star grounds after reading this. Shame what is happening. May God bless you, Brendon and Stephanie.

  4. What an amazing couple. True New Zealanders! Very courageous and standing true to their morals and ethics. Perhaps our politicians could learn something from these brave people. I too will out of principle not be visiting another Lone Star restaurant, ever again.

This whole vax pass system is flawed. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence now knows that being vaccinated will not prevent spread of the virus. All the places of interest with new cases are places that require a vaccine passport. What a joke. Utterly pointless if the vaccines don’t prevent transmission. They should be stopped immediately.

  5. I am also among the “leppers” with my partner unjabbed and proud to stand with other kiwis. Whether we are jabbed or unjabbed does NOT matter, it comes down to the freedom and rights. I congradulate you on your honour and integrety for the New Zealand people. I too am fighting for us all, like you tired of closed ears and eyes and facts hidden by the media and “the powers that be”. Soldier on! There are more of us out there than given credit for, but as usual its all hidden by the media and fact checkers and ANYONE WITH AN OUNCE OF CONSCIENCE!!
