A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly intentionally crashing a vehicle in Manurewa, leaving a woman with serious injuries.
The crash occurred on Adams Road on the evening of 3 August, when the vehicle, driven by the man with a female passenger, collided with a parked truck.
According to Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers of Counties Manukau CIB, the woman, who was known to the man, sustained multiple serious injuries in the crash.
She has since been discharged from the hospital and is continuing her recovery. Police have been conducting an extensive investigation and are now bringing the man to account for the incident.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Manukau District Court, with the investigation still ongoing. Due to the legal proceedings, police are unable to provide further comment at this time.
