A mass shooting late Wednesday night at a nightclub in Queens, New York, has left multiple people injured, according to early reports.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. local time, sparking a large police response and an ongoing manhunt for the suspect or suspects, who reportedly fled the scene.
News.com.au had earlier reported 11 casualties, but they have since removed reference to that figure, instead reporting that there had been 11 people injured.
Footage from a nearby onlooker showed a heavy police presence surrounding the nightclub shortly after the shooting.
Authorities have yet to identify a motive or confirm details about the shooter. The Queens Police Department is expected to provide updates in a press conference in the coming hours.
