My Food Bag has issued a recall for sesame seed products included in three weeks of its meal programme, citing potential salmonella contamination.
The recall affects 17 items, such as dressings, pastes, and sauces, delivered from 6 July to the most recent deliveries starting on 20 July. The company has advised customers to dispose of any affected products and seek medical advice if they have consumed them. Customers can request a credit for unused ingredients.
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is assisting Davis Trading Company in recalling imported Sesame Seed Kernels White Hulled retail packs, which were distributed nationwide to supermarkets and smaller retailers. Those suffering symptoms of salmonellosis should contact their health professionals. Although no related illnesses have been reported, New Zealand Food Safety is tracing the product and suggests further recalls may occur.
