After 34 years of bringing ‘the news’, Newshub’s final 6pm bulletin will air tonight, marking the end of an era.
Warner Brothers Discovery, the parent company, announced in April it would cease news gathering and production, resulting in nearly 300 job losses. This decision reflects a broader trend of mainstream media’s decline, as traditional news outlets struggle to maintain relevance and trust in an increasingly digital and fragmented landscape.
In place of Newshub’s long-standing broadcasts, Warner Brothers Discovery has struck a deal with another legacy media outlet Stuff to provide a one-hour weekday bulletin and a 30-minute weekend edition.
The last AM show aired this morning.
Shortly before 5pm, the entire Newshub team gathered outside the studio for a final photo.
This closure underscores the broader challenges faced by mainstream media, as viewers increasingly turn to alternative sources for trusted news, leading to a decline in the legacy media’s influence and business model viability.

Their undercover stakeout/sting operation, attempting to ruin the lives of honest and well-intentioned doctors who were trying to educate patients on how to apply for COVID vaccine exemptions was a very special kind of scummy. Made me viscerally hate them.
And then, when TV news is diminished, filters on the internet for news safe for consumption. Can’t have any hurty feelings now can we (or populations getting pissed off)

Media, medicine, food production, the ‘clergy’, ‘banking’ the police, wokesters, and the ‘legal professions’ have ALL been weaponised against us!
We do not ‘contract’ with any of them unless there is a severe need to do so and even then, we minimise contact.
In doing so, we live relatively peaceful lives, but we remain alert to the harm that these entities have done to us in the past, present and future.
And we gear our lives to avoid their antics by prepping, keeping the firearms in working order, and driving an old car that does not have all of that electronic spyware crap installed on the same!!
