  1. There seems to be a lot of death, both reported and unreported in Christchurch over the course of the pre and post-quake years…
Lots of gang activities as well. The cops know all about this, but refuse to act on tips re; P-cook-ups in the ‘hood, prostitution in the ‘burbs, and the increase in child abuse which always seem to point back to Oranga Tamariki ‘care (abuse)-givers.
Everyone, including those committing these acts and crimes, seem to be related to someone ‘in the know’ or someone in a position of legal authority.
After all, would you want to convict Cuzzy-Bro if he was giving you kick-backs from illegal drug sales or monetary pimp margins?
Kobe, Japan was repaired in 2 months.
Christchurch’s quake repairs and replacement of fallen structures is now in it’s 11th year, due to stalled bureaucracies that allow for only certain people (ie Freemasons, Anglicans and Catholics competing for lucrative contracts and ‘opportunities’ at ratepayer expense etc.) to be awarded the work and building consents and contracts. The exception to this is the Catholic frame that now entered the CBD with Catholic-financed buildings in the same area.
The rebuilding of the Christchurch Cathedral was an appeasement to keep everyone ‘happy’ despite the upcoming cost blow-out.
The provincial mentality, class and social structures of the ‘privileged few’ ‘Stake Families’ in Merivale, Fendalton, Cashmere and Northwood is glaringly obvious, especially where employment and associated pay rates are concerned.
Given over to the fact that certain families are also targeted for conspiracy ruination by the PTB, many took their pay-outs from the illegal EQC (designed to take the hits and losses from mainstream insurance companies and their portfolio holders and have the ratepayers fund the cost of repair or replacement) and left the South Island chop-stick!
Many went to Oz and have said that they will never look back, let alone come back to smoky, run-down and ruined Christchurch!
