The search for Tom Phillips has intensified as police move their focus from Marokopa to Otorohanga, where Phillips had a home before his disappearance two-and-a-half years ago.
In a bid to locate Phillips and his three children—Jayda, Maverick, and Ember—the police have offered an $80,000 reward for information leading to their safe return, and have even suggested immunity from prosecution for anyone aiding the family. The reward offer ends on 25 June.
The extended search and checkpoints in Marokopa put in place by police had tested the patience of the locals. Many residents expressed frustration over the negative spotlight on their town and the repeated disruptions caused by police operations.
Acting Detective Inspector Andrew Saunders told state media the ‘welfare concerns’ for the children were their top priority. Saunders acknowledged the disruptions faced by Marokopa residents and thanked them for their patience as the search continued.
Do not escalate this into another Ruby Ridge! Leave the guy and his kids alone! Stop trying to make him into a criminal just because he’s chosen to live outside the f@*!ed up system!
