Stuff leave Twitter (X)

Stuff news group

The legacy media outlet will stop posting and sharing its content on Twitter (X) with immediate effect, the group announced yesterday.

The company claimed Twitter (X) did not ‘contribute to [its] mission’ of growing its business ‘through trusted storytelling and experiences that make Aotearoa New Zealand a better place.’

In an article published on Stuff.co.nz’s website, CEO Laura Maxwell said:

‘As a business we have made the decision that X, formerly known as Twitter, does not contribute to our mission. We are increasingly concerned about the volume of mis- and dis-information being shared on the platform, and the damaging behaviours we have observed, and experienced.

So, as of today, we will stop sharing our content on X. An exception to this will be stories that are of urgent public interest, such as health and safety emergencies. We will also publish these stories on Neighbourly.’

The article went on to say that ‘Twitter, formerly X, has been plagued by misinformation for some time – with false claims about Covid-19, the Covid-19 vaccine and the 2020 US election gaining significant amplification.’

The decision will affect all the Stuff Group brands including Stuff.co.nz, The Post, The Press and the Waikato Times.

  1. Jabcinda’s ‘Christchurch Call’ in action; the denial of free speech (regardless of how offensive it may be to certain 6-pointed star groups) and the ‘one source of news and truth’ as per 1984.
Boycott Stuff and it’s affiliates, AND IT’S ADVERTISERS!!!

  2. Too hard to spread fake news and one-sided dog sh!t opinions when people are allowed to openly comment and use the community notes feature to fact check your preposterous government shilling in real time.

    Hasta lavista douchebags 👋

  3. I read somwhere that Ardern paid Stuffed $55 million for favorable coverage during the covid hoax, the new government should refer that to the tax department.

    • Stuff got a part of the $55 million, it was also a loan that would have to be paid back if any MSM company breached the terms of the contract. I wonder if the new govt will continue it and keep the same terms.

  4. Stuff must have been happy before Elon got rid of all the purple and green haired lefty’s sensoring posts questioning the safety of the jab, and the corruption of the Biden regime, entirely predictable when the narrative doesn’t align with their woke and perverse world.
