Syphilis cases surge by 45%, concerns of a larger ‘undetected outbreak’

New Zealand is experiencing a significant increase in syphilis cases, with a 45% rise in reported infections between 2022 and 2023.

Auckland, Waikato, and Canterbury are the most affected regions, with those in their 30s seeing the largest spike. Infectious disease expert Dr. Massimo Giola told state media the actual number of cases could be two to three times higher than reported, as many cases go unnotified. He was concerned about the lack of testing in areas like South Canterbury, Gisborne, and Whanganui, which may be masking the true extent of the outbreak.

Syphilis poses a serious health risk if left untreated, and has been on the rise globally since the early 2000s, with New Zealand’s upward trend of cases starting in 2011.

Giola says there is a need for comprehensive STI testing, including blood tests for syphilis, and calls for greater investment in sexual health services.

    • Kinda like the Black Clap during the Vietnam War around 1968…
BC was an antibiotic resistant fast-moving super strain of VD that was untreatable, and the quiet rumour was that those troops infected with the same were moved to an undisclosed location and listed as MIA. All later died…
      Wanna have sex?
Then go get a blood test, and check the RH Factors in the event a pregnancy occcurs.
Other probs? Maybe this all goes hand-in-hand with being vaccinated with Covid Bio-weapon vaccines…!

  1. Another gift from large scale immigration. Along with measles and tubercolosis. These diseases affect even the most moral societies as they have done in the past.

  2. 45% rise doesn’t say much.
Was there 5 cases and now there’s 7? Or 500 and now 700?
Jeeze, they’ve provided information that doesn’t tell us anything 🤔

  3. Infection has been on the rise for some time, the introduction of “prep” has helped its increase, many young and uninformed or just careless feel all good to go with prep. No worries. Jacinda in her 2017 campaign was bullshitting everyone how they will end HIV with new drugs blah blah blah but sexual health professionals and clinics were warning of the consequences but was largely falling on deaf ears. At the time I thought the b*tch was irresponsible for making such claims.

  4. This is how radicalised Communist implants perform and carry out ‘Unrestricted Warfare’ on the populations….and that includes super strains of VD, MRSA Bacterium, and Bio-Weapon ‘Vaccines’!
