In a series of crashes across the North Island overnight, three lives have been lost in separate incidents.
Fatal Crash in Morrinsville
The first incident occurred on Coronation Road in Morrinsville at approximately 6:50 pm, involving a motorbike and a car. Despite the rapid response from emergency services, one person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit has carried out a full scene examination, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause. The road has since been reopened.
Peacocke Tragedy
Later in the night around 10:00 pm a single-vehicle crash on Ohaupo Road in Peacocke, Waikato, claimed another life. Police and emergency services were called to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatality and the road has also been cleared and reopened.
Clendon Park Fatality
In the early hours this morning a motorcyclist lost their life in a two-vehicle crash in Clendon Park. The crash, involving a ute and a motorbike, occurred on Roscommon Road at around 2:50 am.
Emergency services responded quickly, but the motorcyclist succumbed to injuries. The Serious Crash Unit has completed its examination, and further enquiries into the cause of the crash are underway.
The roads at all three crash sites have since reopened, but the investigations into these tragic accidents continue. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, as police work to notify their families.
