In a tense start to the World Rugby SVNS final in Madrid, France applied early pressure on Argentina, nearly scoring before a crucial tackle by Rodrigo Isgro saved Los Pumas Sevens.
It was Luciano Gonzalez who broke the deadlock, using a strong left-hand fend to score in the left corner. Just before halftime, France responded with a spectacular try from their own try-line, finished by hometown hero Stephen Parez, giving them a 7-5 lead.
The second half saw Isgro receiving an early yellow card, increasing the pressure on Los Pumas Sevens. Despite Tomas Elizalde’s impressive try-saving tackle, France’s Jefferson-Lee Joseph capitalized, extending their lead. Paulin Riva sealed the Championship for France with a final try, leaving Argentina unable to regain momentum.
