Promising golfer and two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray tragically took his own life at the age of 30, his family confirmed.
The announcement came shortly after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge due to illness.
Murray had recently secured a tour spot this season and claimed his second career title at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Despite his professional successes he faced personal struggles, including mental health issues and treatment for alcoholism.
A report in British state media said his family were grief-stricken and confused over his sudden loss, emphasising his wide-reaching love from family, friends, and fans, and requested privacy as they mourn.
