Critics slam Starmer’s ‘tone-deaf’ crackdown on ‘far-right violence’

Keir Starmer - Southport news

Reform MP Lee Anderson has condemned UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s new police crackdown on “far-right thugs,” comparing them to football hooligans following recent violence sparked by the Southport knife attack.

Anderson claims Starmer is “not reading the room” and has failed to grasp the public’s anger over the tragic killings.

Anderson’s warning comes as Starmer announced a new national police strategy, which includes deploying facial recognition technology and sharing intelligence across forces to combat organised riots.

Civil liberties groups, such as Big Brother Watch, have condemned these measures, labelling them as “alarming” and “dangerously inaccurate.”

Silkie Carlo of Big Brother Watch argues that the proposed use of facial recognition technology, prevalent in authoritarian regimes like Russia and China, is “tone-deaf” and will not instill public confidence in the government’s ability to address the root causes of violence.

Critics assert that Starmer’s approach lacks nuance and could exacerbate tensions, especially within communities already feeling targeted.

Despite the backlash, Starmer remains firm, emphasising a need for a robust response to violent disorder and ensuring public safety, but faces ongoing scrutiny regarding the balance between “security measures” and civil liberties.

  1. When there are no wolves, the sheep can roam free. When there are wolves around, the governments can put the sheep in a fenced area and continually monitor them and tag them “to keep them safe, for their own protection”. Also, sheep that may incite other sheep to go outside the fenced area are specially monitored, and all sheep are vaccinated.

  2. How did a party come into power when it’s agenda went against public opinion?
Why hasn’t the British public noticed that Labour have come through the back door without being voted for??? Hilarious and tragic.

    • It’s the same trick OUR Labour Party pulled in 2017.

Fail to get elected, somehow become the government through bureaucratic rules and technicalities. The left never win organically on the strength of their awful ideas and proposals, there’s always some kind of an angle involved.

  3. I’d say that the guy was programmed by the same outfit that does the surveillance tech.
Very sorry for the people of uk but if this is not recognised as entrapment I don’t know what will be.

  4. On how Starmer got rid (with the help of the J***) of Corbijn, through lies, most of the british knew nothing good to expect from starmer, a little opportunistic man that is only interested in furthering his carrier among globalists. So nothing positive for ordinary people will come of him.
Getting rid of the ruling conservatives was urgent for british voters. But they got from the frying pan into the fire.
No one in its right mind wants the globalist to rule in europe.
Expect violent revolts through europe against them. It is only the beginning of it

    • The Brit right wing could have done what the French Left wing did in the election but the Tories are not Right wing, they are Uni-Party.

  5. Starmer has betrayed his people, betrayed his oath of office. He is not working for the people. Starmer is working for the elites. It is not just about the murder of three little girls. It is the lethal injections, it is the ignoring of the evidence. It is the creation of recession hardship . It is for the destruction of farming .These parliamentarians have had plenty of time, plenty of opportunity to change their ways. I hope the riots become an organised force. I hope the people of the UK overwhelm the police and remove their parliament by lethal force. That is the penalty of treason. That is the penalty for murder . That is the penalty for turning a blind eye to genocide.

  6. What Starmer does not realize, or maybe he does is it’s not far right violence it’s ordinary people sick of looney leftist policies destroying their country. All done of course in the service of the globalists.

  7. Starmer is a weak feeble-minded deranged WEF-aligned globalist moron unfortunately.

It won’t go well for him obviously.
