‘Disgraceful and dangerous’: Australian court forces women-only app to compensate trans plaintiff

Tickle v Giggle news
Roxanne Tickle (L).

In a landmark case that has ignited a firestorm of debate, the Federal Court of Australia ruled in favour of a man named ‘Roxanne Tickle’, who identifies as a ‘transgender woman’, after being denied access to a women-only social media app, “Giggle for Girls.”

The app’s owner, Sall Grover, was ordered to pay Tickle A$10,000 in damages, plus costs, after the court found that Tickle had been “indirectly discriminated” against. This ruling has sent shockwaves through social media, with many voicing strong opinions about the implications for women’s rights in Australia.

Supporters of Grover argue that the ruling is a dangerous precedent that undermines the rights of women to have spaces reserved exclusively for them.

“This Australian judge wanted to refer to a man as a transgender woman so was happy to call him Miss Tickle. All because he got a piece of paper in Queensland that said he’s a woman. Australian women, you do realise what this means for you and your daughters?” one tweet read, reflecting widespread concern about the erosion of sex-based rights.

Others echoed this sentiment, with women’s rights activist Rachael Wong expressing disappointment in the court’s decision, tweeting, “Our law gives more rights to men who identify as women, than to actual women and girls.”

Senator Claire Chandler also condemned the ruling, calling it a “disgraceful and dangerous situation” that reduces the protections available for women and girls in Australia.

Despite the court’s decision, Grover has vowed to continue the fight, planning to appeal and take the case all the way to the High Court, asserting that this battle is far from over.

  2. Outrageous !!!! And where are the men ?
Are they not meant to defend women and family ? leaving again women alone to fend for themselves.
It an important civilisation issue where MEN AND WOMEN need to bond against this deviousness. It has nothing to do with ” discrimination” a misnomer for deviousness and perversity

Antonio Luis B.R. walked free when the Court of Violence against Women in Seville, Spain, withdrew from the case after he legally became a woman.
According to the victim’s lawyer, Jose Antonio Sires, his client broke off her relationship with Luis five years ago following a decade of psychological and physical abuse.
Although she took out a restraining order, he simply ignored it and continued harassing her.
Last July, Luis allegedly attacked his ex again and threatened her, reportedly saying: ‘You only have days left to live.’ When police arrived, he told them: ‘I am a woman.’
