Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing new allegations of rape, sexual assault, and abuse, following a series of lawsuits filed on Monday.
At least six lawsuits, brought forward by two women and four men, span alleged incidents dating from 1995 to 2021.
The accusations include claims that some assaults occurred during exclusive parties hosted by Mr. Combs, attended by major celebrities and music artists. ‘
One accuser alleges that, as a 16-year-old, he was sexually assaulted by Mr. Combs at a 1998 Hamptons party, where the rapper promised to help him break into the music industry. In another case, a woman alleges that Mr. Combs raped her in a hotel room in 2004 when she was a 19-year-old college student. Mr. Combs has denied all allegations, with his lawyers stating he has “never sexually assaulted anyone.”
The lawsuits were filed under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, allowing for older claims to be pursued.
Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the accusers, said he plans to file more lawsuits involving over 100 alleged victims, some of whom were minors at the time of the incidents. These recent filings add to more than a dozen prior lawsuits accusing Mr. Combs of sexual misconduct.
Combs, who is also facing federal criminal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, has been in custody since his arrest on September 16. His trial is tentatively scheduled for May 2025. Despite his legal team’s request for release due to poor jail conditions, a judge denied bail, citing the risk of flight.
