A Filipino woman who claimed to be the world’s oldest person has died.
Francisca Susano was said to be 124 years old at the time of death, a claim the Guiness Book of World Records was investigating at the time. Born in 1897 it is understood that Susano was the last remaining human born in the 19th century.
The cause of death has not yet been specified.
She is reported to have had 14 children, one of whom lived to the age of 101. She passed away in her home town of Kabankalan, where she lived with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchilren.
