Update: Serious crash, Winton
Police can confirm one person has died in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Gap Road East and SH6, Winton.
Police were called about 1.25pm yesterday.
A scene examination has taken place and the road opened in the evening.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
Fatal crash, Opotiki
One person has died following a vehicle collision in Opotiki Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to Paerata Ridge Road about 3.45pm after a car and a dirt bike collided.
One person sadly died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Name release – Kerikeri crash
Police are now in a position to release the name of the person who died in a crash on State Highway 10, Kerikeri on Thursday, 3 November.
He was Aaron Donaldson, 50, of Waipapa.
Enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
Name release – Mitimiti crash
Police are now in a position to release the name of the person who died in a crash on West Coast Road, Mitimiti on Friday, 4 November.
He was Allan Campbell, 56, of Mitimiti.
Enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
Name release, fatal house fire, Ngaruawhahia
Police can now release the name of the person found deceased in a house fire in Ngaruawahia on Sunday.
He was 45-year-old Marvin Mahara of Ngaruawahia.
The exact circumstances of the fire remain under investigation.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
