Jordan Howlett spills the beans on McDonald’s best-kept secrets via social media.
He told his 9 million followers that the secret lay in the frying solution – which was a mixture of vegetable oil and beef flavouring. But, fries in the UK, Canada and Australia were still cooked in regular oil.
Howlett told the NY Post that his motivation was to ensure people ‘with dietary issues’ ought to know. ‘It’s probably not good news for vegetarians,’ he said.
Products labelled ‘natural beef flavouring’ were not necessarily made of beef all, a 2015 report on eater.com claimed.
McDonald’s have not commented on the claim.
