NY cabbie outraged by lenient bail terms following savage assault

Afzal Butt news

Afzal Butt was beaten up on a downtown street by a group of thugs during an argument.

A NY cabbie is calling the city’s criminal laws ‘hopeless’ after video of the attack spread across social media, and two of the perpetrators were charged with ‘misdemeanours’ and let free.

‘If they’re not going to put them behind bars, this is a horrible system’, Butt told the NY Post (video of the attack is contained in the article). ‘I am hopeless and helpless with this system. Send the mayor the video and tell him die with the shame.’

Video showed the man being attacked by a group of five people on on Sixth Avenue and West 34th Street on July 19. Two suspects have been charged. They are 35-year-old Howard Colley and 51-year-old Natalie Morgan. Police ate still looking for the other three.

Butt had pulled over to clean a mess inside his cab, when the group accused him of trying to run them over. It wasn’t long before matters go out of hand and Butt found himself being punched and kicked. After falling to the ground a women is seen stomping Butt’s upper body.

Democrat-run New York has come under fire for its lenient treatment of those accused of serious crimes. The two arrested defendants in this case were charged with misdemeanours and had ‘zero or no’ serious criminal history.

‘If you’re angry, be angry at the criminal justice reforms — no criminal history and a misdemeanor, you have to issue [desk appearance tickets],’ a police source told NY Post.

Meanwhile Butt is still suffering from the effects of the attack. ‘My eye socket was swollen. I was dizzy and lightheaded. There’s so much pain in my neck. I still can’t move my neck. My arms, my knees, my hips. My chest felt like I was getting pressure on my chest. So much pain.’

  1. Oh, those Pavement Primates…and their false sense of entitlements!!!
This is why many cabbies in certain U.S. States conceal-carry!
But, in New York, you have NO rights, and the crims have ALL the right- to trash businesses, rob, rape, and murder.
And the percentage of stats that reflects the ethnicity that causes 80% of the crimes?
Well- just look up ‘Black – on – White’ crimes and see the ‘in yo’ face’ answer.
