‘More Keira than Keira’ is the latest short story by New Zealand author Jack Freestone.
The technology for the cloning of celebrities has arrived. All that is required is a sample of their DNA. Because of this technology, a young girl discovers that her life is not what she thought it was.
“Look, she’s got blood on her,” said the older woman, lowering her voice. “You know what she is, don’t you?”
“She doesn’t even know what she is,” said the younger woman, in a loud whisper.
“You mean it doesn’t even know what it is? It’s an abomination. But it must be worth a fortune, to someone.”
